About ARRL East Bay Section

The ARRL East Bay Section organizes and provides support to Amateur Radio licensees who live and work within its borders. It comprises California’s Alameda, Contra Costa, Napa, and Solano Counties. The East Bay Section is one of nine ARRL sections in the state of California and one of seven sections in the ARRL Pacific Division. The ARRL is the national association for Amateur Radio™.

Each ARRL section is governed by a Section Manager who is elected by the members of the ARRL who live in that section. The Section Manager then appoints volunteers to staff program areas including emergency communications, message traffic, volunteer monitoring, RFI problem-solving, support of affiliated clubs, government liaison, encouragement of technical activities, and dissemination of on-the-air bulletins.

Here on the ARRL East Bay Section’s Web site you can learn about many ham radio activities taking place in our section. Ongoing activities include weekly nets, ham radio club meetings and activities, contests, public service events, educational classes, and emergency communications training and planning.

Groups of specially-authorized Amateurs offer licensing sessions at which anyone can obtain a first Amateur Radio license or upgrade to a higher class of license. Amateurs in the section participate in the annual ARRL Field Day each June; the annual ARRL Pacific Division convention (PACIFICON) each October; and the annual ARRL Simulated Emergency Test (SET) at various times each autumn.

Welcome to the ARRL East Bay Section! Please say hello and join us!
